Han sen of Dania, Fla., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Joyce to Ernest Robert Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Rice of Black Mountain. The bride-elect attended South Broward high school, Florida uni versity, and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts where she studied interior decorating. Her fiance, a veteran of three years in the army air corps, at tended Black Mountain high school, business school in Ashe ville, and the Aeronautical uni versity in Chicago, 111. CIRCLE 3 HEARS TALK BY MISS NANNIE WATKINS Circle 3 of the Presbyterian church met Monday evening in the nurses’ home of the Western North Carolina Sanatorium. Miss Lillian Russell and Mrs. Blanche Morrison were co-hostesses. Thir teen were present and two guests from Montreat. Miss Lillian Russell was in charge of the program and presented Miss Nannie Watkins of Montreat as guest speaker to give the devo tional on “Fitly Framed Together” covering the historic books of the Bible. Following the regular pro gram refreshments were served. MRS. PAT RANDOLPH ENTERTAINS PATCH CLUB Mrs. Pat Randolph entertained the members of the Hatchn’ Patch club last Friday night. The even ing was spent in sewing and visit ing and dainty refreshments were served by the hostess. Those present were: Mrs. Jimmy Mc- Swain, Miss A. J.
